World Poetry Day: “Know Me”

I have a daily ritual of saying “Good Morning” to my Amazon Echo aka “Alexa”.  She responds with a fact of the day.  I use many of these facts to generate questions for my Come Roll With Me Facebook Page.

Today Alexa informed me that it was World Poetry Day.  After listening to her recite a poem and haiku, I decided to take off my blogger cap and exchange it with a poet’s beret.  It has been a long time since I have written a poem, a hobby I had as a child.  Be kind, as I am a bit rusty with the rhymes!

Know Me

I have a tale to share

I am a man with a chair

This poem is about me

A man whose disabilities are three

Visual, scoliosis and CP

My disabilities don’t define me

Get to know me as a man

As a person if you can

See me and not my chair

Ask me questions to become aware.
